Just Credible Cleaners offers residential cleaning services that can take the stress off homeowners’ shoulders. You can schedule our services to occur monthly, weekly, or annually to best fit your schedule. Before you begin a new year, focus on areas you normally neglect when going through a cleaning checklist.
1- Sanitize All Door Handles
Your hands encounter multiple surfaces and bacteria each day. You then bring these germs into your home and they normally end up on your door handles and cabinet handles. Especially during the winter season, cleaning your door handles can help stop the spread of germs in and outside of your home.
Handles and knobs can be spread with disinfectant almost daily and then wiped down with a clean rag.
2- Deep Clean The Washing Machine
Small parts of washing machines are often left to grow bacteria and can become very dirty. Even though you use soap to clean your clothes, soap build-up and oil from clothes can build up in the seals, valves, and other small parts.
Make sure to clean the soap dispenser, the agitator, and the filter. To find your removable parts, you may have to do some research to know exactly where they are located. Make sure everything dries thoroughly.
3- Remove Buildup On Faucets
It is common that the top and knobs of the sink get cleaned often, but underneath the faucet where the water is released can see a buildup of hard water and other minerals. These faucets can be contaminated and spread bacteria into your water or hands.
Removing the buildup can be done with a grout brush or a cleaning toothbrush. Make sure to rinse thoroughly and after the buildup is removed, wash with regular soap and water.
4- Washing Rugs
Upholstered furniture and rugs collect lots of dust, dead skin cells, body oil, and other germs. Washing them properly and removing pathogens can set your up for the new year. Add washing or cleaning your rugs to your cleaning checklist to make your home smell and feel cleaner. Not all rugs can be washed in the washing machine, but spraying them with some soap and water, or taking them to a dry cleaner can help improve their appearance. You can also use a carpet cleaner or steam cleaner.
For upholstery, start with vacuuming and then pick up a handheld steam cleaner or upholstery cleaner to suck up dirt and grime with hot water.
5- Remotes And Electronics
Controllers, remotes, cell phones, and other electronics are some of the dirtiest items in your home. Add them to your cleaning checklist and improve your immune system by removing harmful germs. When you are deep cleaning for the new year, look for all controllers, small remotes, keyboards, laptops, tablets, and other electronics. Clean the small areas between keys and buttons, sanitize the entire thing, and don’t submerge in the water while cleaning.
A great solution for cleaning these items is a mixture of ⅓ water and ⅔ rubbing alcohol sprayed on a cloth.
6- Empty And Clean Small Appliances
Small appliances see crumbs and buildup with daily use. Toasters, air fryers, waffle irons, crockpots, blenders, and other small appliances should be cleaned as part of your cleaning checklist. Cleaning these appliances after each use will put you ahead on cleaning, but there are small parts that are often neglected. Taking apart appliances and soaking them will help you remove burnt food and stop mold growth.
